The ΑΕΚ-fan Ηλίας Κατσούλης would have enjoyed this goal!
But I am sure he has seen it from above…

Ne me réveille pas, je t’aime

Mes petites mains se sont couchées
pour dormir profondément
sur ma poitrine endolorie
pour se reposer

La nuit elles ont déployé des ailes
et sont venues t’étreindre
dans tes cheveux de soie
pour nicher calmement

Ne me réveille pas, je t’aime
et j’ai des chansons à te dire

Mes yeux se sont scellés
pour dormir tendrement
au sommeil ils ont fait le serment
de ne pas se souvenir de toi

Mais ils t’ont revue
ils ont pleuré ta séparation
et un petit oeillet
a fleuri sur ton cou

Ne me réveille pas, je t’aime
et j’ai des chansons à te dire

Vampire fog

Last night (and it was really night: 11 PM… 3200 ISO and 15 seconds for the picture!) I tried to catch with my camera the fog one could clearly see with one’s eyes… but on the picture it was just invisible, like vampires one can see ‘directly’ but not in mirrors.
At least this is how things are in movies…
The result is this picture:

Voici, comme promis, une première chanson du duo Ηλίας Κατσούλης - Παντελής Θαλασσινός.

Κατσούλης-Θαλασσινός Live

Here are just a few videos of the songs written by the 'duo' Ηλίας Κατσούλης - Παντελής Θαλασσινός. Κατσούλης has written so many songs: more than 300, and collaborated with so many great composers. But it is his meeting with Παντελή Θαλασσινό that made him so popular, as if they were made for each other, like a love story…

Should I add that they were both fans of ΑΕΚ?

it could/should have become our song…

also interpretated by the great Χαρούλα Αλεξίου

I would like to be a ticket in your pocket
when your thoughts travel to me

Κατσούλης à Bruxelles…

In Memoriam Ηλία Κατσούλη

One year ago, one of the greatest Greek song writers left this world: Ηλίας Κατσούλης.
He was also one of my two favourite ones, with Άλκη Αλκαίο.
I had translated then some of his songs in French and published them in my old Yahoo blog.
But as 360.Yahoo being sadly closed now and the new Yahoo being really bad, I have decided to upload on this blog those old posts and maybe to translate some other songs…

A typically Greek dish: stuffed vine leaves… even if one can find it in many other countries: Armenia, Lebanon, Persia &c.
And everybody thinks they are the creator of this receipt.
But it is surely not a Jewish receipt: Adam and Eve used vine leaves for something else than cooking…

- It is a white flower…

Apples…

You might remember the picture of my nephew* I took some months ago, in April, in front of this tree: it was full of white flowers.
And now it is full of apples.
Well, full… less and less as more and more apples simply disappear either naturally or in compote…
Not yet in apple tart, but maybe soon.

* If you remember that my nephew is just 2 years old now (and he was even younger in April of course…) and not very tall compared to adults, you can easily imagine what kind of gymnastic I had to do to take such a picture…

Not an aphrodisiac though.
And no overdose: the day after might be even hotter…

Quotas of happiness

Very often, when someone dies, people say: “he had a happy life”, as if there was some kind of quota of happiness, as if we were given at our birth some amount of happiness points that we use to pay for each happy moment in our life. And once we have used all those happiness points, we can die without any regret.
Is it really so? And if yes, do we all receive the same amount of happiness points ar our birth?
I just hope it is not: I hope that people can live happy and work to make others happy as long as possible…

A better known flower… but what are those leaves in the centre of the picture?
Nice colour though.

Another nice flower: don’t ask me what it is… You’d better have a bee as friend for that!

Da Salonica

Isn't she afraid to fall into the sea?
Better not to distract her…
